Dallas Malloy to appear in 'Eli Stone' episode Tuesday

Dallas Malloy, a former Bellingham resident, groundbreaking amateur boxer, accomplished bodybuilder and aspiring actor, will appear in an episode of the ABC series “Eli Stone” this week.
Malloy — who at age 15 in 1993 successfully sued USA Boxing over bylaws forbidding females from competing and participated in that organization’s first sanctioned amateur bout between females — will appear in an episode of the comedy-drama series entitled “Two Ministers,” airing at 10 p.m. Tuesday.
The guest-starring role, in which Malloy portrays Michael Stills, a trangendered minister who is fired from his church after it is learned the clergyman was once female, is the most high-profile gig Malloy has acquired since a brief appearance in the film “Jerry Maguire.”
Malloy, who moved to Los Angeles in 2004 to develop as an actor, identified with the character’s spirituality and personal tragedy.
“He’s a spiritual person,” Malloy said. “His work is about helping others. And then there’s these people who aren’t going to let him do it because of their insecurities and fears. His voice has been taken away. He’s just like everybody else. He just wants to be heard.
“We’re all unique. And that uniqueness makes us interesting.”
“Eli Stone,” now in its second season, was canceled in November.
