ACTRESS DALLAS MALLOY TO LEAD SPOKEN WORD EVENT AT SILVERLAKE STUDIO
‘Jerry Maguire’ Actress to Join Notable Performers and Artists for Saturday Event

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 17, 2012) – Noted actress and bodybuilder Dallas Malloy, known for her work in films like “Jerry Maguire” and the upcoming “ABCs of Death,” will join several performers and artists to celebrate the spoken word at “Strong Words 4” on Saturday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Spirit Studio Silverlake, 2609 Hyperion Ave. in Silverlake.
Admission is free.
“I’m excited about sharing my thoughts, experiences and challenges I’ve faced over the years at this amazing spoken word event,” said Malloy, who is known for her role in the blockbuster Tom Cruise film, “Jerry Maguire.”
Malloy will be joined by actor/playwright Larry Dean Harris, who is producing the event, artists Dominick Domingo and Marlene Nichols, all of whom will make spoken word presentations. Musician Amy Loftus will also perform along with the musical duo Register & Gans. Photographs by Michael Hirabayashi and Don Nocon also will be on display.
Having gained fame at 16 when she successfully sued to overturn the ban on women’s amateur boxing by its ruling body, U.S. Amateur Boxing Federation, Malloy has successfully crossed over into acting through “Jerry Maguire,” the TV series “Eli Stone,” “1,000 Ways to Die,” “True Blood,” "Conan," and many others.
A piano virtuoso since 6 years old, Malloy currently is the focus of the biographical documentary “I Am Dallas Malloy,” a film by noted French filmmaker Antoine Arditti, set for release in June. She will be featured in the June issue of Atlantic Monthly and is scheduled to participate in the California State Bodybuilding Championships on May 26 and the annual Venice Muscle Beach Memorial Day competition on May 28.
