ACTRESS DALLAS MALLOY TO HIGHLIGHT SPOKEN WORD EVENT AT SILVERLAKE STUDIO

‘Jerry Maguire’ Actress to Join Notable Performers and Artists for Saturday Event

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2011) – Noted actress and fitness expert Dallas Malloy, who in 1993 successfully sued USA Boxing to overturn its ban on women’s amateur boxing, will join several performers and artists to celebrate the spoken word at “Strong Words 2 and Art” on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Spirit Studio Silverlake, 2609 Hyperion Ave. in Silverlake.
Admission is free.

“I am thrilled to be invited to this event and share my experiences and in particular, my writings which are part of my autobiography I am now writing,” said Malloy, who is known for her feature role in the blockbuster Tom Cruise film, “Jerry Maguire.”

Malloy will be joined by actor/playwright Larry Dean Harris, who is producing the event, animator/artist Dominick Domingo, artist Jeff Mills and actor/writer Steve Alden Nelson, all of whom will make spoken word presentations.
Having gained fame at 16 when she successfully sued to overturn the ban on women’s amateur boxing by its ruling body, USA Boxing, Malloy has successfully crossed over into acting through “Jerry Maguire,” the TV series “Eli Stone,” “True Blood” and many others.

Malloy currently is the focus of the biographical documentary “I am Dallas Malloy,” a film by noted French filmmaker Antoine Arditti, set for release next year.
