Dallas Appearing in Spoken Word Event


ACTRESS DALLAS MALLOY TO HIGHLIGHT SPOKEN WORD EVENT AT SILVERLAKE STUDIO
‘Jerry Maguire’ Actress to Join Notable Performers and Artists for Sunday Event

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 19, 2012) – Noted actress and bodybuilder Dallas Malloy, known for her work in films like “Jerry Maguire” and the upcoming “ABCs of Death,” will join several performers and artists to celebrate the spoken word at “Strong Words 3” on Sunday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Spirit Studio Silverlake, 2609 Hyperion Ave. in Silverlake.
Admission is free.
“I’m pleased to take part in this wonderful spoken word event and share my thoughts, experiences and challenges I’ve faced over the years,” said Malloy, who is known for her feature role in the blockbuster Tom Cruise film, “Jerry Maguire.”
Malloy will be joined by actor/playwright Larry Dean Harris, who is producing the event, artist Jeff Mills and actor/writer Steve Alden Nelson, all of whom will make spoken word presentations. Musician Amy Loftus will also perform. Photographs by Michael Hirabayashi also will be on display.
Having gained fame at 16 when she successfully sued to overturn the ban on women’s amateur boxing by its ruling body, USA Boxing, Malloy has successfully crossed over into acting through “Jerry Maguire,” the TV series “Eli Stone,” “1,000 Ways to Die,” “True Blood” and many others.
Malloy currently is the focus of the biographical documentary “I am Dallas Malloy,” a film by noted French filmmaker Antoine Arditti, set for release in June. She will be featured in the June issue of Atlantic Monthly and has appeared in People Magazine, Los Angeles Times and a variety of publications and media outlets.
