ACTRESS/BODYBUILDER DALLAS MALLOY TO HIGHLIGHT BODYBUILDING COMPETITIONS THIS WEEKEND ‘Jerry Maguire’ Actress to Compete in Annual Muscle Beach Event and in NPC State Championships

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 23, 2012) – Noted actress and bodybuilder Dallas Malloy, known for her work in films like “Jerry Maguire” and the upcoming “ABCs of Death,” will join top bodybuilders at the NPC (National Physique Committee) California State Championships on May 26 and the annual Muscle Beach International Classic on May 28.

The NPC California State Bodybuilding,, Bikini and Physique Championships will be held at 10 a.m. for prejudging and finals at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 26 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 4117 Overland Ave. in Culver City.

The Muscle Beach International Classic & Armed Forces Championships will begin at 10 a.m. with finals at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 28 at the Venice Recreation Center, 1800 Ocean Front Walk in Venice. Information for both shows here: www.dallasmalloy.com

“I’m extremely excited about participating in these two outstanding events, featuring some of the best bodybuilders and fitness athletes in the world,” Malloy said. A 2009 NPC multiple champion with several honors from past Muscle Beach competitions, Dallas expects to do well in both tournaments despite tough competition other top athletes.

“These competitions always bring out the best in everyone competing and no one is going to be a shoo-in. But I feel confident in my training and my approach and it’s going to be exciting,” she said.

Having gained fame at 16 when she successfully sued to overturn the ban on women’s amateur boxing by its ruling body, USA Boxing, Malloy has successfully crossed over into acting through “Jerry Maguire,” the TV series “Eli Stone,” “1,000 Ways to Die,” “True Blood,” "Conan" and many others.

Malloy currently is the focus of the biographical documentary “I Am Dallas Malloy,” a film by noted French filmmaker Antoine Arditti, set for release in June. She will be featured in the June issue of Atlantic Monthly and has appeared in People Magazine, Los Angeles Times and a variety of publications and media outlets.
